Orienting around Structures in Education

Curious what others have to say about how this model applies to education at all levels. It should, because it was deeply informed by pedagogical and psychology theories of education at all levels (my doctorate is an EdD in human and organizational learning).

I imagine one question to emerge is: “how does this model clarify things or make things easier?” I have lots of potential answers depending on the circumstances, but really curious to explore this area with like-minded people who have real challenges to solve in front of them.

One theme that keeps cropping up for me, just as a parent, is how useful timeframes are for setting and negotiation expectations. My son is five and my wife and I get so much mileage out of setting a timer for different things it’s really mind-blowing. From his Montessori school I also see how they make liberal use of time-structures, and like taking-turns, I’m surprised that this tool is used so often with children, but then often abandoned with adults (in peer-to-peer situations).
